VCHW Foundation Health Care and Front Line Workers - Thank You Video
We celebrated Rural Health Week from May 29th-June 3rd this year with a variety of activities to express our gratitude to the healthcare workers in our Community Health Centre, the Vulcan Medical Clinic and the Arrowwood Medical Clinic. The Mayor of Vulcan and Reeve of Vulcan County made an official declaration of the celebrations. Vulcan County Attraction and Retention Committee organized daily staff draws to local eating establishments and provided the VCHC and Vulcan Clinic staff with a lovely veggie and fruit tray provided by Meals in Minutes. Arrowwood Clinic received a gift certificate to their local restaurant.Other sponsors that contributed to Rural Health Week were Vulcan Golf and Country Club, Georgie's Cafe, The Buzz from Nanton and Centre Street Eatery, Arrowwood. “Thank you” to the staff of the Vulcan Community Health Centre, the Vulcan Clinic and the Arrowwood Clinic for your great efforts to serve the health needs of Vulcan County residents. The lucky winners of the daily $25 gift certificates were as follows:
Monday: Wanda Cookson, Recreation Therapy, and Shalayne Matthews, Reception
Tuesday: Jodie Griffin, HCA in Adult Day Support, Katherine Jennings, HCA, VCHC
Wednesday: Lisa Bexte, Vulcan Medical Clinic, and Taylor Hartung, RN, VCHC
Thursday: Kelly Bowers, RN and Kayla Jackson, Lab, VCHC
Friday: Glen Savrtka, Physiotherapy, VCHC and Taryn Hartung, RN, VCHC
The Vulcan and County Healthcare Workers Attraction and Retention Committee is an active organization of volunteers dedicated to “Keeping Rural Healthcare Close to Home”.
